Terriers Win Midland Counties Championship
Many congratulations to Denis Nesbitt and his Staffs Terriers team on winning the Midland Counties U120 Championship. A magnificent 7.5 - 4.5 win on Saturday afternoon at previously unbeaten Worcestershire put them level at the top of the table with their hosts. In these situations the result of the match between the 2 Counties who are tied on points decides the Championship, so the Terriers just pipped Worcestershire to the title. The full score card from the match can be viewed here. I am informed that the Terriers Quarter Final opponents in the Nation Finals are likely to be Essex but I will confirm this at a later date.
The Staffs Bulldogs were also due to be playing away to Nottinghamshire on the same day but defaulted the match, leaving them 2nd from bottom of the table, just above Lincolnshire.
The full U120 league table can be viewed here.
