The much changed 2021/2022 league season is rapidly approaching its end. Crewe 'D' have won the Voluntary Mask Division (VMS), with 9 wins and a draw from their 10 matches. Cheddleton 'A' have won the Mandatory Mask (MMS) Division 1, with 6 wins and 2 draws from their 8 matches. The Division 1 Wooden Spoon is still up for grabs, with Fenton 'A' and Cheddleton 'B' fighting it out to avoid the bottom spot. They meet on Monday in the last Division 1 match of the season, and Fenton need a win to climb off the bottom. Anything else and they will be confirmed as Wooden Spoonists. MMS Division 2 is still up for grabs, with Fenton 'B' and Cheddleton 'D' level on match points, although Fenton have a superior Game Point difference. They both have one match left to play, Cheddleton against Kidsgrove and Fenton against Meir. A win for Fenton, by any margin, will give them the title. Whatever the result of these two matches, Meir are already confirmed as Division 2 Wooden Spoonists.
It is still very unclear what will happen next season, with doubts over the NSDCA futures of Newcastle, Stafford and, possibly, Macclesfield. For this reason, it is very important that all Clubs send a delegate to the NSDCA pre-AGM Meeting at Meir on the 11th July, where we decide on how we proceed for the 2022/2023 season. Please ensure that you put this date in your diary.
