Staffs U120's Through To Final Of County Championship
The Staffs U120 team progressed to the County Championship Final following a tremendous Semi-Final win against Essex on Saturday afternoon. In a nail biting finish Staffs were leading 5.5 - 2.5 and only needing a single point from the final 4 games to win the match. Unfortunately 3 of these were lost causes so Essex looked set to level the score at 5.5 - 5.5. However, Team Captain Peter Evans rose to the occasion with the required win, and the point that gave us a 6.5 - 5.5 victory, sending us into the Final. You can click here to view the full match score card. We now play Warwickshire in an all Midlands Final on 13th July. This match will be played, alongside all of the other County Championship Finals, at the Trident Centre in Warwick. Warwickshire beat Kent by 8 - 4 in the other U120 Semi-Final played last weekend.
