Jacob Boswell Unbeaten In British U-11 Championship

Many congratulations to Jacob Boswell of Cheddleton on his performance in this week's British U-11 Championship in North Shields. 3 wins and 4 draws, with no losses, gave him a score of 5/7 and joint 3rd place - just a point behind the winner.

Alex Richardson Wins Newcastle Summer Half Hour

Alex Richardson of Fenton, Newcastle, Stafford and Cheddleton (is there a club he doesn't belong to !?) won the Newcastle Summer Half Hour tournament with a score of 5/6 in the competition that finished this week. He was closely followed by Simon Edwards of Cheddleton on 4.5/6 and Alex Cartlidge, also of Cheddleton, on 4/6.

Kidsgrove Take Lead In South Cheshire Shield

Kidsgrove beat Alsager by 3-1 last night to go clear at the top of the South Cheshire Shield.

ECF Online Registration System Now Active

The ECF Online Registration System is now up and running.  You can use it by going to the link on the right hand side of the page.

New ECF Grading List Published

The latest ECF Grading List has just been published. It includes games played up until 30th June 2012. Games played after this have been listed but not included in the calculation. These games will be included in the revised list in January 2013.

ECF Online Registration

The ECF Online Registration system failed to appear on Monday of this week as promised. They now tell me it will be next Monday 23rd July after they have resolved some teething problems.

All Change At Alsager

Following the Alsager AGM last week, Alan Thomason has stepped down as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, to be replaced by Steve Brown (Chairman), Les Hall (Secretary) and Neville Jones (Treasurer).

Calendar Of Events

You will notice a new link on the right hand side of the page to the NSDCA Calendar Of Events. In future this is where I will be listing upcoming league and cup fixtures, plus any other events that may be of interest - congresses, County matches, AGMs, etc. If your club has any events that they would like added to the calendar then please let me know.

Another AGM

Alsager's AGM takes place next Tuesday 17th July at the Cricket Club. Start time is 8:00.

NSDCA AGM

I do not propose to attempt to go into any great detail on the discussions at last night's AGM on here. Rather, I would refer you all to the succinct version of events on Martyn's Newcastle website written, as usual, in his own inimitable style. I think Martyn has done an excellent job in covering everything that matters, along with his own comments and observations on the procedings.

No National Title For Fenton

Fenton narrowly failed in their bid to win the National Minor Club Championship. They were beaten on board count in the Final by Forest Of Dean from the North Gloucestershire League with the match tied at 2-2.

Latest Result From South Cheshire Shield

Holmes Chapel and Kidsgrove shared the points in a 2-2 draw in their South Cheshire Shield match last night.
