There was a large NSDCA contingent at this weekend's Blackpool Congress although, unfortunately, none of them were required at the prize giving !!
Fajfer Bartez, Karl Lockett and Simon Layhe (all Crewe) played in the Major Section, with Fajfer finishing in a very creditable joint 5th place with 3.5/5.
Chris Hankey (Fenton), Jon Blackburn (Cheddleton, David Lambton (Crewe) and David Price (Crewe) played in the Intermediate Section.
George Bulbeck (Crewe) played in the Minor Section.
Julian Bulbeck, Nigel Gardner, Kobus Nianber, Philip Wright (all Crewe), Dylan Whitney (Fenton) and Andrew Crosby (Kidsgrove) all played in the Standard Section, with Julian Bulbeck and Andrew Crosby finishing joint 7th with 3.5/5. Another half point would have seen Andrew win the Veterans Prize.
Well done to everybody who took part and flew the flag for North Staffs.
