ECF Grading File Submission

The half yearly grading files have now been submitted to the ECF. This includes all NSDCA League & Cup Results, Graded Friendly Matches, Graded Addendums To League Matches, South Cheshire Shield, South Potteries Chess Challenge Cup and Crewe internal rapidplay competitions. Results up to, and including, 14th December have been submitted.

County Cup matches and Crewe and Macclesfield internal longplay competitions, will be submitted at the end of the season.

London Chess Classic

Unfortunately, Simon Edwards fell away in the latter stages of the London Classic, scoring 1.5 from Rounds 5-9, and finishing on 4/9.

London Chess Classic

Simon Edwards of Cheddleton is currently playing in the FIDE Open Section of the London Chess Classic. He is doing very well at the moment, with a score of 2.5/4, including a draw with an International Master in the 1st Round and a draw against a FIDE Master in the 3rd Round. After 4 rounds he is unbeaten and in joint 46th position out of a field of 232.

4 Defeats In A Row For County U140's

The County U140's suffered their 4th successive MCCU Championship defeat at the hands of Nottinghamshire yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately they had to default on 2 boards so faced an uphill battle from the start. Staffs were strong on the top 5 boards, scoring 2 wins and 3 draws, but fell away badly after that and finished up on the wrong end of an 11 - 5 result. Click here for the match score card.

County U120's Beat Derbshire

The Staffs U120 team beat previously unbeaten Derbyshire by 7.5 - 4.5 yesterday, with NSDCA players contributing 5 points to the score, so well done to al of them. Click here for the match score card.
