It was probably not unexpected that Simon Edwards lost his opening match against WGM Jovanka Houska. It probably was unexpected that he only drew his 2nd round match against an opponent rated 400 points lower than him. However, he made up for this with a win in the 3rd round so now sits in joint 110th place out of 288 on a score of 1.5/3. This puts him, temporarily at least, ahead of a couple of GM's and FM's.
