Joe Hirst of Newcastle Chess Club played in the England U11 trial qualifier last Saturday. He finished joint 3rd out of 53, with 4/5, gaining the second of two half point norms he needs to take part in the England EPSCA Junior Squad Trial next year. Very well done to him.
