It was good news all round for Cheddleton and Holmes Chapel in the 4NCL today. Cheddleton had a particularly good 3.5 - 2.5 win again a Manchester Manticores '2' team with an average rating of 2037. Holmes Chapel beat 3C's by 4.5 - 1.5. Click here for the match score cards.
Thivyaa Rahulan played on board 1 for Manchester Manticores '4' and finished the weekend with a score of 0.5/2.
David Hulme played on board 6 for Spirit Of Atticus 'B' on Saturday, unfortunately finishing 2nd against a player rated 207 points higher than him.
Another old NSDCA face in evidence was Ian Jamieson, previously of Kidsgrove and Newcastle, but now playing his league chess for Newport. He was playing for Shropshire '1' and had a good weekend with 1.5/2.
Rounds 3 & 4 will be played over the weekend of 13th/14th January at the Mercure Georgian House Hotel in Bolton.
