The results from the South Lakes Congress are now online and the final cross table of results can be found here. Jacob Boswell scored 2/5 in the Open Section to finish joint 16th out of 22. Martyn Harris was joint 3rd out of 27 in the Major Section with a score of 3.5/5. Rich Wiltshir and Malcolm Roberts were joint 6th out of 38 in the Intermediate Section with a score of 3/5. Joe Hirst - a new name to me - scored 2.5/5 in the Minor 2 Section, to finish joint 13th out of 28. He plays at the Thursday evening Junior Section of Newcastle Chess Club.
I have no idea if any North Staffs players were at this weekend's Heywood Congress and I can't find any results online yet.
