Many thanks to Martyn Harris for bringing it to my attention that the Braille Chess Championship is currently taking place in Harrogate. It is being played over 7 rounds and Bill Armstrong of Cheddleton is in joint 8th place after 3 rounds with a score of 1.5/3. Bill has won the Braille Chess Championship on 3 separate occasions in the past, first in 1983 and then again in 2013 and 2015 and has represented the UK in the World Championships.
