There were ten NSDCA players in action at last weekend's Blackpool Chess Congress. Jacob Boswell (Cheddleton) played in the Major Section, Alan Thomason (Alsager), Jon & Sandra Blackburn (both Cheddleton) and Neville Layhe (Crewe) played in the Intermediate (U155) Section, Martin Gill (Crewe) played in the Minor (U135) Section, Julian Hawthorne (Kidsgrove), Dave Price, Les Hall and Simon Layhe (all Crewe) played in the Standard (U115) Section. Dave Price won a £17 share of the grading prize in his section with a score of 4/5 - he says it's not going to change his life !! None of the others were required on the podium.
If anybody else from any other NSDCA club plays in weekend congresses then please let me know so that I can publicise it here.
