County U160 Team Withdraws From MCCU Championship
The County U160 team have withdrawn from the MCCU Championship as we have been unable to find anybody willing to take on the role of Captain. At the time of writing we do not have a Captain for the Open team either. There seems to be less and less interest in County chess at higher levels where Staffordshire is concerned, although the U100 and U120 teams manage to flourish with varying degrees of success. On the other hand, the 4NCL continues to thrive and grow. This, plus the number of weekend congresses around the country, is probably having an adverse effect on County chess.
