Division 2
Crewe Rooks 1 Macclesfield 4
Despite playing a man short Macclesfield cruised to an easy win against the Rooks.
Division 3
Newcastle 'C' 0 Cheddleton 'G' 4
Newcastle's season came to a miserable end last night with a whitewash at the hands of Cheddleton 'G'.
Division 4
Crewe Pawns 1.5 Fenton 'B' 2.5
In a nail biting climax to the season Fenton 'B' snatched the Division 4 title for the 6th time in 7 seasons with a win against the Pawns. With the match poised at 1.5 - 1.5 Crewe only needed a draw from the last game on board 1 to take the title. But with both players only having seconds left on their clocks Greg Willett allowed himself to be mated in the middle of the board by Pawns and a Queen, despite being a Rook up.
Division 5
Newcastle 'F' 2.5 Cheddleton 'K' 1.5
Cheddleton's title hopes evaporated last night when they were beaten by Newcastle. Table topping Meir 'D' now only need a point from their last match next Monday to take the title.
