The Fenton duo of Alex Richardson and Steve Emmerton won this afternoon's NSDCA Doubles Tournament U320 Section with 6.5 points, just half a point ahead of joint 2nd placed Mike Hancock and Malcolm Roberts of Holmes Chapel and Rob Taylor and Ray Hyde, also of Fenton. There was a twist in the tale in the final round of the U220 Section. With Dave Price and Paul Clifford of Holmes Chapel, last year's winners, a point and a half clear and only needing a draw between them to win it again, they both contrived to lose their last round matches and were pipped by half a point by Jacob Cartlidge and Dominic Taylor of Cheddleton. Many thanks must go to Martyn Harris and George Scattergood for the superb job they did in organising the whole thing. Once again it was a rousing success and we all look forward to next year's event. The only disappointment was the lack of support from several of the other clubs in the NSDCA.
