Alsager spoilt the party for Kidsgrove in the final match in the South Cheshire Shield last night, winning by 2.5 - 1.5. A win for Kidsgrove would have put them level on points with Newcastle but they would have won the title by virtue of more game points. As it is Newcastle are now clear winners at their first time of entering the competition so congratulations to John Day and all of his team. Kidsgrove names first :
Derek Northage 0.5 John Smith 0.5
Steve Nixon 0 Frank Clarke 1
Dave Johnson 0 Michael Matar 1
Julian Hawthorne 1 James Kingston 0
