Stafford 'A' finally broke their duck with a 4.5 - 0.5 win at Alsager 'A' in Division 1 on Tuesday evening. This was not enough to lift them off the bottom of the table but was enough to put a dent in 2nd placed Alsager's title aspirations. There appears to be some confusion as to who played on Board 5 for Alsager. The team sheet shows it as being F Wark but there does not appear to be anybody of that name on any database so it may be a mis-spelling. Martyn Harris thinks it should maybe have been Frank Clarke so that is what is being recorded. If anybody from Alsager is reading this then perhaps they could confirm this.
